Art Wolfe

Can You See the Pride In the Panther
As he grows in splendor and grace
Topling obstacles placed in the way,
of the progression of his race.

Can You See the Pride In the Panther
as she nurtures her young all alone
The seed must grow regardless
of the fact that it is planted in stone.

Can You See the Pride In the Panthers
as they unify as one.
The flower blooms with brilliance,
and outshines the rays of the sun.
A young heart with an old soul
How can there be peace?
How can I be in the depths of solitude
When there are two inside of me?
This duo in me causes the perfect opportunity
To learn and live twice as fast
As those who accept simplicity...

William Henry Jackson

I once read a story about a picture of Mt. St. Helen. In the story, the photography died taking the pictures of the mountain erupting. He knew he was going to die so he took as many pictures as he could. He then preserved the  pictures by shielding them with his body and protecting them from the ash. I like this picture because it reminded me of that story. He did us all a service by providing the pictures of the mountain erupting.

Tension Photos

For my tension pictures, I took most of them of Ms. Canales and my friend Marcos playing the guitar. I don't know why but I like pictures of people when they are playing a guitar. It's like in that moment they are creating art and art is amazing no matter what it is. I like the one of Marcos when he is head banging and his head is all blurry. I should have taken more of Ashley, she is my homie for life!

This video reminded me of a princess. The girl is getting ready for something and she is going all out.  She goes and talks to little kids about something. It reminded me of a girl who hardly has to try to look great. This particular girl is also smart and wonderful at everything she does! I wonder if she thinks of herself as a princess or maybe a queen? They have a lot of responsibilities to handle while at the same time being the best looking girl in the land. The world will never know.

To Raymond,
What made you want to join photography?

Cat and Mouse

For the cat and mouse project i walked around ms. canales' class taking pictures of ashley.
she was on the floor posing like a ninja or something.
i just kept taking pictures of her.
shes my homie. homie for life.

gwenn dubourthoumieu

This picture reminds me of myself when i first started learning how to play guitar.
The reason it reminds me of myself is because of how happy he looks.
When I would get the tabs right I was always proud of myself.
I used to facetime this girl, I would play my guitar to her and she would tell me i was good even though i knew i wasn't.
I really miss that. Us.

Matt Elch

I remember looking at pictures that used double exposure and wanting to try it. I think it's very interesting how the pictures turn out! I like this one because I always thought Brad Pitt was cool for some reason. Maybe it's just because he is with Angelina Jolie, I don't know. This picture is really cool regardless. I want to get a camera and start working with double exposure!

Plus & Minus Shots

For this particular project I took pictures of my new favorite teacher, the dance teacher! I don't really know her all that well but I think she is really cool. I hope she teaches me how to dance! I took pictures of her "doing her work". I wish i could have gotten some of her dancing. She is an amazing dancer!

Spin like a top

This little project was pretty fun. I liked how the background looked blurry behind me. It reminded me of the first time I ever danced! I was so shy and nervous. At least I tried though! I'm proud of myself for that. I will always remember that night.

Laszlo Moholy-Nagy

This picture reminds me of when I was really close with someone. She absolutely hated when I would try to take pictures of her. I only did it because she was so beautiful and I wanted to remember her forever. I should have taken more because now I hardly remember all the time we spent together. I want to remember that part of my life forever.

Hans Neleman

I like this picture because it reminds me of a old friend. She is into dancing and expressing herself through this. She is truly amazing and very talented. I hope she never stops doing what she loves and stays a free and open soul. I miss her so much.

William Wegman

I like this photo because it reminds me of how much of a diva my dog is. I love my dog so much! She's special and when I had see this picture it reminded me of my dogs personality and her other owners personality. They're both special.

Anne Geddes

Anne Geddes is a super rich photographer. From what I saw looking up her pictures, she takes a lot of pictures of babies. I guess people like the pictures she takes and they're the stock photos in a lot of places. In other words, she makes a lot of money. I need to find a way to get my pictures to be stock photos so I can be making a lot of money too. I've been inspired by Anne Geddes.

Photos with your eyes closed

Taking pictures with my eyes closed is weird. I had to imagine how my pictures would turn out. I didn't know if they would turn out how I wanted them to but I could imagine all I want. It was definitely something new. I liked the idea of not knowing what will happen but hoping that the pictures would turn out good. I think my pictures came out better than I was expecting. Imagining how your pictures will be kind of helps you when you take pictures with your eyes open.

Edward Weston

I chose this picture that Edward Weston took because I find it unique compared to other photographers pictures. It's only of a bell pepper but what I think is interesting is the shape. It's weird how even though it's shape is unique it is still a pepper. It has the same taste as any other pepper but yet it is shaped differently. Like humans for example; we all have eyes, a nose, a mouth, and ears but we all look differents. It makes me wonder how things work.

Reflections

The picture I used for reflections was of both me and Chavelo's shadow. In the picture I'm making a dog with my hands. I don't exactly know why I like the picture but I always find shadows kind of cool. I heard they are our guardian angels or something. I took the picture and I used photoshop to change all the colors and stuff. I like the way it turned out.
